Happy Holidays fom One Oak!

The Holidays are a busy time of year and can be stressful. From purchasing gifts and
cooking, to hosting and entertaining, all of it can take a toll on you. Here at One Oak
Organics, we believe the foundation for healthy skin starts with a great skin care
routine, as well as how you take care of yourself.


We have put together a list of self care ideas you can do during the holidays so you not
only feel your best, but look your best as well.


Stay Hydrated


The best way to not only feel great, but also keep a glowy, clear complexion is by
taking in more H2O. If you choose to have a cocktail or two during the holidays, try to
remember to have a glass of water between drinks. Drink tons of water throughout the
day. Coffee is a diuretic, so it can be dehydrating as well. The best way to make sure
you’re taking in enough fluids is to use a large water bottle and fill it up once or twice
during the day so you don’t lose track of how much water you’re drinking.


Get lots of sleep


Sleep is vital for cell regeneration and growth, so it’s no secret that losing sleep can
cause premature aging. While you sleep at night, blood flow to your face is increased
and all of your reparative skin care products are absorbed into the deepest layers of
your skin. Get tons of rest over the holidays by going to bed a little earlier, or sleeping
in if you have the chance.


Exercise


Its easy to get complacent with your exercise routine when its oh-so-cozy inside by the
Christmas tree, but don’t neglect your workout routine. Whether you run, do hot yoga
or just take long walks in nature, exercise is critical to your physical and mental health.
Exercising daily releases endorphins and reduces stress, which helps boost your mood
and leaves you relaxed. It also increases blood flow, which gives your skin a healthy
glow and helps your heart pump oxygen to all your vital organs.


Self Care Ritual


Create a self care ritual that works for you. Block off a couple of hours during a time in
the day or evening that you can focus on yourself and do what relaxes you. Run a
bubble bath, read a book, or colour… whatever you find relaxes you counts as self
care. Practice a healthy skincare routine and enjoy pampering yourself, you’ll sleep
much better and wake up feeling totally renewed.


Eat Healthy


With all the extra goodies and treats available during the Holidays, it’s hard not to
overindulge. Not only can they make you feel crummy, they can also wreak havoc on
your skin. Set a limit for yourself when it comes to baked goods and snacks and opt for
healthy choices that you know will make you feel great after eating.
